We had a wonderful time at our Winter Assembly this morning. We listened to Chorus 21, heard beautiful poems about winter, listened to the band play "Star Wars", heard funny winter jokes, and watched another great skit performed by the fifth graders. What a fun way to end 2015 at Baker School!
Look at all the places Flat Stanley traveled! He went to many different states and many different countries! We loved that Flat Stanley helped us perfect our understanding of north, south, east, and west as well as taught us about different places!
We were so excited to celebrate reaching FIFTY compliments in 1-D today by wearing our pajamas to school and having a pajama party in our classroom! Way to go, 1-D
We were engineers in Science today! We were given two cups and a piece of string attached to paper clips to figure out how to make sound travel! We noticed when we stood farther away from each other and tightened our piece of string, we were able to hear better than when the string was loose. 1-D did an excellent job explaining this in their science notebooks!
In Social Studies we have been studying birds eye view and ground view. We learned that a birds eye view is as if you were a bird high in the sky looking down on something on Earth. We made snowmen looking from a birds eye view!
Please join us for our holiday celebration on Friday, December 18th from 8-8:45. Sign up to bring something to the celebration by using this link: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0b49aaaf28aa8-1dwinter
