We continue to brainstorm ways to describe common sounds we hear. We read the book Crash, Bang, Boom and learned what words/spellings we might use to describe a plate breaking, baby crying, or broom sweeping.Today in partner reading, we practiced a new reading technique called "1 Page - 1 Page Read." We read one page and our reading buddy read the next page.
We learned a new math game today called "Acting Out Stories". We were able to make up our own story problems with our partners and then use stickers, tiles, or popsicle sticks to help us act out the problem. We also got to pick our own math stations today where we played with Hundreds Charts, Tens Frame War, and Story Boards.
We had so much fun at the Boston Children's Museum. It was a culminating activity to our Marc Brown author study of the Arthur books. We got to visit Arthur's world, learn about lights and shadows, make bubbles, and climb the huge rope structure.
